Vianden is an extremely picturesque city, on both sides of the Our River.Its feudal fine mansion, Vianden Castle (Buerg Veianen), dates from the 9th century and is unmatched in the Ardennes and Eifel for its architectural significance.It is also worth noting the medi outer wall that surrounds the city with many impressive guard towers.This popular event for families is well-known for the Joste tournaments and fights with the sword, market and camp.Built in Gothic style in 1248, since then it has been completely restored.The former trinitarian monastery, dating from 1250, houses a lapidary museum, and a small art museum in a former mansion has a series of notable works of the painters from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.A wide network of walking ways, well maintained and signaled, offers access to the beautiful rural area in our Valley, and a chairlift climbs to a height of 440 meters, where visitors can enjoy splendid views.https://castle-vianden.lu/gb/
