Musee Matisse

Located on Cimiez Hill, Musée Matisse is a real attraction for art lovers.This delightful museum is in a Historical Vile Genovese, surrounded by splendid Italian gardens.The permanent collection represents a vast and diverse set of Matisse's works.There are 68 paintings, 236 drawings, 218 drawings and 56 sculptures (almost all sculptures created by Matisse), together with interesting sketches for decorating the cape in Vence.The whole set of works offers an overview of the artist's creative method and genius.It was given by Matisse's family in the city of Nisa, where the artist lived between 1918 and 1954. Every year, the museum hosts temporary exhibitions, as well as projections of film and art conferences.
