Hiking, cycling and bird observation in Ainos National Park

Image 3 of 10

In the south of the island, the peak of Mount Ainos is the highest point in Cephalonia and amounts to 1,628 meters high inside a national park. The upper altitudes are covered by dense pine forests of the species Abies Cephalonica (Brad Kefallian), which is endemic to Greece and remained exceptionally pure here due to the island's isolation. The National Park is ideal for hiking and mountain cycling, and bird observers could see hammers, eagles, eagles and hawks.
