Ássos is a small quiet village on the northwest coast of the island, 10 kilometers from the popular Fiskardo village. It is built on a road that connects a hilly peninsula to the continent. To reach it, drive a series of hairs to where the village nests in a picturesque port, bordered by taverns with seafood. The peninsula is covered by the ruins of a sixteenth-century Venetian castle, which you can walk for a closer look (allow about 40 minutes) and there are some gravel beaches near the village, where you can swim.
