St. Stephen's Basilica

St. Stephen's Basilica in Budapest (Szent István-Bazilika) is a popular attraction for its impressive architecture, the beauty of its interior and the panoramic views on its dome. The cathedral is dedicated to Saint Stephen, the Holy King of Hungary and the founder of the Hungarian state, and the construction began in 1851, but after several failures in construction - including the collapse of his unfinished dome - was not dedicated until 1905.of the church fell from the walls. However, they were successfully restored in their original place and are the highlight of the richly decorated interior. The most impressive of these, the Venetian mosaic consisting of five parts, is located in the sanctuary and represents the allegories of the mass.I take visitors to the dome to increase the views to 360 degrees on the city and the Danube (alternatively, you can climb the 364 steps). On the working days, guided tours of the basilica are available. Also, make sure you check the Cathedral website for details about one of its frequent organ and classical music concerts.
