Murallas del Castillo: The ruins of a Moor Castle

Image 3 of 13

Murallas del Castillo stands like the last remnants of an old Moorish city (castle and fortified city). These huge walls created with two towers are the only relic of Muslim civilization in Marbella. The walls date from the tenth and eleventh centuries, the period of the Moorish Caliphate. They were restored in early 1735 and remain in good condition. There is nothing to visit between the walls, it is definitely worth a look. The enormous proportions of the walls suggest the greatness of the ancient fortresses.
