The silk holder

Image 9 of 19

This magnificent Gothic structure was built in the fifteenth century to accommodate the silk scholarship of the city, the market where the famous silk from Valencia was marketed with traders (to be sold throughout Europe). The monument is included in the UNESCO World Heritage Heritage. In the best examples of Gothic civilian architecture in Europe, La Lonja de Seda resembles a medi castle with its crenelat exterior and its formidable tower. The facade has richly decorated doors, decorative windows and gargoyles (grotesque carved creatures that function as water channels). The main room has rich stellar vaults worn on twisted columns. From the top of the tower, the city's views are amazing. This attraction is open to the daily public.
