If you take place in your Mexico itinerary for another interesting archaeological site, just a few minutes away from the end of Punta Nizuc in Cancún there is a series of interesting Mayan ruins as El Rey.Named after a mask found here that it was believed to be dedicated to the sun god, the ruins El Rey (Las Ruinas del Rey) include the remains of about 47 buildings, together with numerous tombs built by Maya from 900 AD.It is worth making the time to visit, and many resorts offer cheap trips to the site, which is also famous for the big Iguan colonies living here.
