Tourist Attractions
This impressive medi fortress is located in the center of the island, in the southeast of the village of Antimachia.The Venetians began in the fourteenth century, and the inion above the gate denotes the fact that the Venetian Castle was built even more in 1494 by the knights of Saint John, just like the Neratzi Castle.However, it is rumored that Antimachia would have been used as prison for convicted knights.Despite numerous attacks over many years, the exterior fortifications of the castle are still strong.The only entrance of the castle is found in the double gates of the northern part of the fortress.Inside the church, there is not much, but you can see the two Venetian churches built in the 16th and 18th centuries.Although the churches are not as old as the original structure, they still serve.Antimachia Castle is free for visitors and is open daily.
The ancient Agora was once the main Kos market.Exposed by an earthquake in 1933, today the area is full of archaeological discoveries, including scraps of mosaics, columns, temples, houses and bathrooms.There is also evidence of an altar of Aphrodite, a small temple related to Hercules and a Christian basilica dating from the 5th century.The location of Agora near the port made it the perfect meeting place and an excellent location for the movement and marketing of the goods brought to the port.The entrance to Agora is free, and the site is open daily to visitors.
Just 3 km north of Kos, Lambi is a popular beach at just a stick.Like Mastichari, Lambi is also organized with umbrellas and loungers, which are just a perfect recipe for a good time with your family.The main aquatic sports activities are water ski and surfing.
Niseros is known as the Volcano Island.Here you can see a crater volcano and feel the lava noise under the feet at only 19.5 euros.There are daily trips by boat to Nisyros in Kos, making sure you visit the island and return the same day.
Although the Kos archaeological museum is small, it houses a strong collection of sculptures dating from the Hellenistic period to the late Roman and Venetian period.Located in Eleftherias plate, the neoclassical building was built in 1935. Among its more notable treasures are beautiful mosaics, statues and ceramics on the Asklepion site and a statue of the Hippocrates.Anyone who is interested in archeology, art or history of the island would be without occasion to see the unique artifacts of the museum.
This boat cruise throughout the day is an excellent way to exit and see some of the other islands around Kos.The first stop of the cruise is in the beautiful Vathi village on the island of Kalymnos.The landscape while you are heading for Vathi is amazing, and the village itself is picturesque.Once you return to the boat, a souvlaki buffet lunch is served.

This is the most famous beach on the island.Located 20 km on the southwest side of Kos, Mastichari is an exotic sandy beach, which provides visitors with an entertainment.There are also umbrellas and beds.The main water sports are kite surfing and windsurfing.
Tigaki beach is another 10 km long sandy beach, awarded with a blue flag.It is only 11 km away from the city of Kos and is great for families and sports lovers.
