A short walk from the history of the city of Haga Skansen Kronan District offers a piece of Swedish history, as well as a panoramic view of the city.Completed in 1697, the fortress was built to defend against the threats perceived by the Danish attacks in the south.However, Göteborg has never been attacked in this way, and the interior cannons have been inactive for centuries.The building served as a prison, as a private residence in the 19th century and as a military museum in the 20th century.Today, the site includes a restaurant and a conference center.In the old barracks of the army adjacent to the tower is a summer cafe that serves house cakes, pastries and ice cream.
