The gray stone tower, vis-à-vis the cathedral, is the gateway to a villa whose gardens and terraces have inspired the magic Wings garden in Parsifal. The villa began in the 13th century as a fortified / firm mansion and continued to grow with successive generations, until it had the reputation to have more than 300 rooms (probably an exaggeration). In the eighteenth century, a Neo-Maur monastery was added, and in the nineteenth century, the land were transformed into romantic gardens. Most buildings are now in ruin, which are incorporated as garden elements.Restored portions are used for art exhibitions, and lands are the scene of concerts and a remarkable summer music festival with world -renowned performers and orchestras.
