Our Lady of the Assumption Cathedrala
The original cathedral was built in the XIII-XIV centuries in a Gothic austere style.However, much of the building was renovated after the fire.The splendid of the fifteenth (also restored) monastery presents serene rows of arches and contains the mausoleum of the author and the scholar in Santender Marcelino Menéndez y Pelayo.Three spacious ships are divided into four sections.The delicate vault with pillar columns adds beauty.The monastery is square, with sharp arches.In July and August, the cathedral offers free guide tours every 30 minutes.
