The Museum of Fine Arts (Szépmuvészeti Múzeum) is not only the most important art gallery in Budapest, but hosts one of the largest collections of works of the old masters in Europe.A wide range of Italian, Spanish and Dutch paintings are exhibited in a spectacular, classically influenced building, with a long century, with long rooms for larger paintings, cabinets for smaller and more intimate objects, together with architectural interesting spaces, such as Renaissance Hall.Excellent paintings, drawings and fingerprints, the museum is divided into six excellent departments: Egyptian art, ancient art, old sculpture gallery, old painter gallery, modern collection and graphics collection.(Note that this should not be confused with the Palace of Arts, a high -tech art center that hosts the Ludwig Museum, a collection of contemporary art with Picasso works, David Hockney and numerous Hungarian masters.)
