Full of the charm of the old world, Casco Viejo is on the right bank of the river that extends between the San Antón Bridge and the San Nicolás church.The old city is linked by five bridges to the new city (Ensanche). In the world Casco Viejo is around Siete Calles (seven streets): Somera, Artecalle, Tendería, Belosticale, Carnicería Vieja, Barrencalle and Barrencalle Barena.It is a delightful experience to explore these picturesque historical streets, bordered by small boutiques and cafes. In the northern part of the old city around Puente del Anal is Paseo del Areal, the main artery of this part of Bilbao.Opera Palais Garnier in Paris.Built in 1890 and later renovated, the Arriaga Theater is the Cultural Center of the city, where concerts of classical music, opera, dance and theater performances are organized.This wonderful church has a baroque facade and a unique interior in octagonal shape;The church dates from the fourteenth century, but it was completely rebuilt in 1756. The beautiful carved altar and some of the paintings are the work of Juan de Mena.A walking guide tour in the old city of Bilbao (Casco Viejo) is an excellent way to get an overview of the appearance and history of the area.
