Strength of San Carlos de la Caban

Image 4 of 13

About 15 minutes walk from El Morro, in Parque Historico Military, the huge Fortaleza de San Carlos de la Cabana, also called Castillo de San Carlos from Cabana, is on the top of the hill at the cabin.Following the British occupation, the Spaniards started to build this imposing fort, which dominates the entrance to the Gulf of Havana. The most impressive is Museo by Commandancia del Che, with the office of Che Guevara kept as it was in his time here. Some of its personal objects are also exposed. And if you are looking for things to do in Havana at night, come here for the Cañonazo Ceremony, when the actors dressed in costumes from the 19th century hold a cannon ceremony at 9:00 pm.
